Headlight Dip / Indicator Switch.

Featured Replies

Got a problem with my 45k miles 55 plate Fabia vRS). Pretty sure the dip / indicator switch has failed. Dipped beam works fine, flash works fine, high beam does nothing (just stays on dipped). I can sometimes get it to work by holding on flash and quickly bashing it through to full beam. Has anyone else experienced this? Wondered about the relay but I guess that as flash works OK it's the switch.

It's the stalk that controls indicators and cruise control. Had a quick look with the column top cover off (no idea how to shift the lower one) and can't see how to change the switch. Is there a trick I'm missing, as I'd like to do the fix myself?

Very annoying as car is out of warranty. Looks like a trip to the dealer (40 mile round trip) to be told to come back when the part comes in and then be relieved of another £100 having just had a dodgy boot catch / light fixed.

Love the car (it's my second vRS and nicely spec'ed in Silver with Xenons, Cruise, middle rear head rest, side airbags and heated seats etc plus the addition of AMD One Click, Jabba ARB, Eibachs, Seat strut brace 160PD pipe / filter) but the little niggles are starting to wind me up.

Any advice?

Cheers

Ian

Have had the same, and needed a replacement indicator stalk assembly (comes with the wash/wipe too) - Probably cheaper to get from a breakers than from Skoda, and to fit the steering wheel has to come off.
