can't debrand my N96

Featured Replies

i had no issues bedranding my N95 and other phones but my N96 seems as though it doesn't want to play ball, i've followed as best i can the guides and tips i have found on the internet but i'm still having no joy.

i've tried doing it using vista 32bit, 7 32bit and 7 64bit with the latest and previous versions of NSS as well with different versions of pcsuite installed and also with no pcsuite installed and NSS is still not picking the phone up properly :(

this is what it comes up with, anyone have any idea's on how to get this working as i am stuck on an old firmware with a newer one available with improvements :(

Have you tried switching it on and off again?:D

No seriously, have you got the latest version of NSS installed, it makes a difference.

Try clicking on the Phone info button, then under Actions, click scan, then click enable on Product code in the Production data, then click the read button.

Remember you can search for new firmware over the air with the N96, you don't even have to plug it in (Once you've debranded it of course)

yeah i know all that buddy as i have used i on previous phones but this bugger won't be seen properly on NSS, i'm not sure what the latest version is but i've tried 1.0.38.14 being the newest i've found.

Yeah, that's the version i used to debrand the N85. I also had to upgrade to the latest version of Nokia PC Suite, and leave it switched on before NSS recognised the phone.
