Mine are the same and as im getting bored with trying to keep them black i decided im going to get them plastic primed and then colour coded which is getting done on tuesday :D

wd40 works fine for me on plastics :D

Personally use cheapest Tesco's peanut butter, but I've also read somewhere you can use baby oil.
