Bike racks

Featured Replies

Can anyone reccommend a rear mount bike rack for 2/3 bikes..

You looking for one that comes off a tow bar or straps onto the back window? To get a strap on one to fit will be difficult due to the spoiler etc. Also not sure I would trust one on my car. Have you thought about a roof rack system. I have Thule bars and Atera bike holders and it all works very well. Good place to look for options in The Roof Box Company: sales and hire of snow chains, Thule roof boxes, Autoform, Fapa, Kamei and Karrite roofboxes, roof bars, bike carriers, and other car and travel accessories.

I would have to echo PSM with regards to going roof mounted.

More secure and no chance of rubbing against your paint.

I bought my Cruz roof bars and Thule bike carriers (x2) from the roof box company and I can't fault the service.

Thule are really well made and a good fit!

However a friend of mine who's bike mad uses Pendle bike racks!

I was told that I couldn't have a rear mounted bike rack on my vRS, because the top support straps that needed to attatch to the top of the boot, would have meant that it would have been held by the glass as there is no metal surround around the top & also the rear spoiler would have got in the way.

I opted to go for the thule aero roof bars & two thule 561 outride fork mounted carriers. I could get three on if I wanted.

I got them from. Thule roof rack & cycle rack systems

I must admit there is other advantages of having the roof bars. I strapped some wood from my local DIY store the other day instead of damaging the interior.
