'lifetime protection' offered by dealer for octavia estate - an alternative

Featured Replies

I bought a new (pre-facelift) Octavia 19. tdi Elegance Estate just before Christmas and was offered Autoglym ‘Lifetime Protection’ (or something like that, I think it was called.) I was tempted, because my aim is to keep the car running for as long as possible, however the cost (£250) seemed high and comments on other web forums suggested that it wasn’t worth it, because it isn’t always expertly applied and the guarantee is more or less meaningless. In the event, I contacted www.raceglaze.co.uk and asked for advice. A look at their website suggests that they are at a different end of the market from where my interest lies, which is solely on protecting the vehicle’s bodywork. However, I was impressed by the courtesy and obvious expertise with which they answered my questions and, above all, listened to what I wanted. In the end, they spent two hours working on the car, giving it a full wash and dry, followed by an application of Duragloss Bonding Agent and then Sealant; what remained of the products used was available for me to take away. They didn’t promise lifetime protection, but a (to me) much more realistic 10 months’ use before a top-up is advisable. The total cost was £115 and, although I’m completely ignorant of this field, this seemed fair and, more importantly, I feel convinced that they did a professional job. I would certainly recommend them (but I’m also open to other comments and suggestions about keeping car bodywork in the best possible condition for the longest possible time!)

Sounds like Raceglaze did an excellent job and I am a big fan of their own signature waxes..............

If you want to wash and protect your paintwork then I will be running a GB this week that may be of interest from you, although be it from another supplier of detailing products...........:P
