Yep...after 12 months of trying I have finally GIVEN my vRS away!! :eek::eek:

(Well I got £2,700 for it which is basically the same !!)

So I am now the proud owner of a P-reg Ford Fiesta :D:D

However....

I've been to Blackpool today and put a deposit down on a '55 plate Seat Altea TDi Stylance, which I am collecting later this week.

I am told it is the same engine as the Octy and Furby (105 bhp), and wondered if there are any pitfalls to avoid, and when's the timing belt due (is it 4 years/40 k miles??)

As it's the 105bhp 1.9pd I assume its similar to the pd130. My cambelt is every 4years or 60k.

Apparently the pd105 remaps very very well :thumbup:

My mum & dad's octi2 pd105 does quite well in the mpg state and theirs is also set to variable servicing

Are the cam belts prone to snapping, as being a tight git, and the fact that it has only done 33k, I wondered about leaving it a bit longer ??

Also, are they difficult to change ( did my Octy Vrs ok...is it any more difficult than that, and should I change the water pump and/or tensioner as well ??)

I honestly can't help with those questions, It might be worth getting this moved to the Octi 2 section or starting a new thread in there as they have the same engine.

My 1st cambelt had on my tdi had done 80k before it was changed although it had done 80k in just 3 years.
