What price an L&K 2.0 TDI Estate?

Featured Replies

Am looking an Approved Used one tomorrow, 2007 / 07 plate, black magic, onyx interior, 8000 miles, manual box. What sort of price should I be looking at? I prefer the new one TBH but the budget can't handle that. This one is up for £11995 and I'll be looking at a cash deal and no p/x. This is probably the best bargaining position I've ever been in so I don't want to waste it.

Thanks for any advice.

to be honest that sounds a pretty good price for that level of trim and year....if it's any good go for it....it's always worth asking for something off or even a few things thrown in ....tank of fuel ...if it hasn't got any then mats, cargo net etc.

Price looks realy keen.

I aggree, Mats and mudflaps and a full tank. Also check all the plastic wheelnut covers are there because the ones for the wheel nut key especially seems to alway be loose on mine. (especially after pressure washing.

That very keenly priced.

Has it got the Grey Leather i.e a factory L&K or does it have the black leather i.e a Skoda UK L&K?

Good value either way though.

Dealer doesn't know yet, car now delayed for a week :(. Been told it's Onyx, which I assume is grey/black. Hope so as I don't really like the light leather version.

My '08 model year Octavia brochure I've had for a while states Onyx was an alternative trim option but that with alcantara panels. I know the one I'm interested in is an '07 car so did they get full leather or leather/alcantara?

The only thing that is a niggle is that the centre console is matt on the old shape L&K but on the "new" Octavia it has a piano black finish which - combined with the Bolero head unit and it's sexy colour screen - looks very very nice. Still, a budget is a budget (or it wouldn't be called a budget I guess).

There are three types of L&K, the pre 2007 model that was basically an elegance with leather/maxi dot/MFSW.

The revised 2007 model (March>) had xenons, different wheels, Audience stereo, piano black inserts, LED door lights, 17" alloys etc. And only one Derv - 2.0TDI

The latest facelift model will have the touchscreen head unit and piano black centre trim.

You can tell the difference - the old L&K has 16" VEGA alloys, the newer L&K has 17" Sputnik alloys and the facelift has 17" Cepeus alloys.

Thanks, whilst in an ideal world I'd love the facelift L&K, the sad fact is we are not currently in that position so I'm removing the new car from my thinking. I'm not a great fan of PD motors but I'm happy enough at the price to swallow my pride. Maybe in 3 years or so a CR may be an option but not right now.

Shame I can't retro fit the new centre trim once I sort out a car but the climate panel is different too :thumbdwn:.

How durable is the piano black trim? if it's anything like my mx5 it scratches just by looking at it and shows up fingermarks etc. Much prefer the carbon fibre look myself.

I've had no problems so far in the ten months since new. I assume that the trim is just black plastic though and not black laquered wood.

I'm not convinced that this is a good price especially if it's not a MY2008 version. In September 2007 there were quite a few 'old' L&K's that the dealers were trying to sell. I am considering changing my L&K DSG Estate (September 2007, 7700 miles, MY2008) and the best price I've been offered is £10,200. Even allowing for dealers margins I think almost £12k for a manual car is over the top.

As someone else has said check the wheels and headlights. MY2008 should have 17" wheels and xenon headlights. Onyx is black leather with alcantara inserts. BTW L&K's have standard mud flaps and mats.

I would agree with the above, try and squeeze them on price at much as possible starting off at the ridiculous. Fuel Mats and flaps is nothing compared to good old cash discount!
