standard octavia stereo

Featured Replies

seems to have developed a mind of it's own. Sometimes the volume will increase as far as 16 and after that it just stays the same. Other times it will adjust the volume itself (and not just while driving) especially if there is alot of bass....

is it time for a replacement?

bin it!

It's not playing about with the automatic "loudness" controls is it?

Thats what i thought. I've got that setting turned off but maybe it's stuck on....

Mine does this, it's a right pain.

How do you turn off the auto controls??

you need to hold down one of the buttons on the left hand side (cant remember which without having it in front of me), which will bring you into another menu and you can scroll through the other options

Ok; how does a new head unit stop the standard speakers resonating at high volume? The problem is the lack of rear enclosures.

It's not the speakers. The amp in the HU is probably overheating and the volume display freezes. Still haven't fitted the new one..... someday!

Thanks ;)

That's a really nice looking HU there Suze. I went for the CDE9880R in mine last year, and it's been great. Green display and full iPod control are handy. Wired the iPod and USB leads through into the glovebox, and ripped out the CD changer!

Alpine FTW!

I think i'll be doing that too. Nice to keep the ipod hidden. I've to find somewhere for the bluetooth mic aswell. Was thinking of the blank switch in the centre console
