I need a good mp3 splitter to make ringtones and for other things too. Does anyone know of a good free one? Most are either 30 day trials or only do 50% of the track.

I've used a freeware tool named Audacity. It has tons of options and is very capable of dealing with mp3s. But you also need to download Lame.enc MP3 decoding file. It's needed to re-encode mp3 files. So, open mp3 with Audacity, edit to your liking, save as mp3 and then point Audacity where the lame.enc dll is.

There's a freeware called :-

mp3mymp3 2.0

If you do a google search for it you'll come across it straight away.

Allows you to play any music source on screen and record however much of it you want, and convert it into a number of different file formats.

I always use Cooledit Pro which i got for free, but I'm not sure if it's freely available.

Very professional editing suite IMO.

I use one called mp3DirectCut.

Its ok for making ringtones etc, but can be a chew on for more intricate stuff.
