Windscreen wash bottle change.

How do you access the above, on a Fabia VRS 55 plate. Is it by taking off the shroud inside the passenger side wheel arch? Mine is leaking and needs replacement. Many thanks.

Yep that's exactly it and it's relatively easy but you do need to undo some of the engine undertray as well and will need Torx screwdriver bits.

It may not actually be the bottle that's leaking though, it could be the associated diverter valve. There is only one pump on the washer bottle and depending upon whether you want water to the front or rear it will spin either clockwise or anticlockwise to send water to either of two outlets. These then feed either side of a small diverter valve that contains a membrane that moves under water pressure to shut off the side not needed (ie front shut off if back is being washed and vice versa). On our car it was this diverter valve that was leaking and was all crapped up. I managed to strip it down, clean it up and re-assemble and re-seal it without too much difficulty early last year and it's been fine since.

Total job including jacking and removing/re-fitting the arch liner took just over an hour.
