Airbag warning light

Featured Replies

The airbag warning light appeared the other day. Previously I took it to the garage ASAP for safety sake. This time I phone them and they can only get the car in on Wednesday (its Friday) they say, "as long as it is orange it is probably just an electrical fault, if it is red then it requires urgent attention". Any advice with these lights?

My light came on 2 days after I got it, it turned out to be a fault on the passenger seat, common apparently, they just cut off the connectors and modified the wiring!

Your dealer is right about the colour coding, but don't worry, it won't suddenly deploy when driving, if there is a fault it just won't work.

I'm trained in my job to remove and refit airbags, and have it on very good authority that the safety precautions are well over the top anyway!

Hope this helps, Lee.

As above the connectors under the seat are a common issue on the earlier cars.

I shouldn't panic.

Connectors also gave bother on mine and were replaced, it occurred after movement of drivers seat.

If the light is on will the airbags still deploy if required?

just 2 weeks ago. My car's airbag lighted on. I scanned it with vagcom. The fault was caused by low battery. in that days I were playing mfd2 device without getting the car worked for hours, Then the battery voltage diminished. After recharging it and resetting the fault code with the vagcom, now no problem looks.

i just downloaded VAGCOM but i dont have the cable (from pc - to skoda felica 98 GLI 1.3l) how much are they? and where does the wire plug into my car

sorry if this stupid question lol

It will still try. The yellow light just means the airbag might not receive the signal.

I was told if there is any airbag light on the system is de activated.

And you don't get different coloured airbag lights do you??? They are all amber.
