Has anyone on here had their Stream radio replaced?

Featured Replies

Has anyone on here had their Stream radio replaced due to bad reception?

The reason I ask is from day one the reception have been really bad and I believe its the radio and not the ariel.

P.S the car is 5 months old.

The new radios being fitted look a better unit and I'd say more reliable.

i replaced my own with an MFD3.

What stations are you trying to listen too? I never had a problem with my Stream MP3 and have never had an issue with my MFD3 even though it only has one of the 2 aerial sockets in use

I changed mine to a Stream MP3, but had no reception issues with, just would not turn on without an

ignition re-set.

I've a Stream MP3 and the FM reception is **** and getting worse.

I hate having to leave in the car for warranty work they never give you a courtesy car

where are you? i've still got my old one so you can swap them over to see if it is the radio if you want that way when you go to a dealer you can tell them its defo the radio

With my MFD3 I am only able to receive FM, not AM, so I can't listen to the sport ! I know the reception was never that brilliant on AM anyway, but my MFD3 doesn't pick anything up.

Never checked my AM but will try tomorrow as i listen to 5 live on a Saturday evening if i happen to be driving then

My dealer gives me a courtessy car (or has so far) and thats for petty stuff like rear wiper fixes, etc. At pretty short notice too.

Mind you, i'd like to see them try NOT giving me a courtessy car - but i dont let that stop me from appreciating that fact that they have done so without me having to 'persuade' them :D

if its an after market MFD3 and only using one of the aerial connections you have 2 options.

1) connect to inner connector and get TMC, Station List, FM but no AM.

2) connect to outer connector and get FM and AM, no TMC or Station list.

The outer connection thats used for AM on the MFD3 is the secondary antenna, the main being the inner. I had been investigating adding a second screen mounted antenna to the front windscreen but have not got very far yet.
