FAST FAST FAST FAST..Delcac's Octavia

Featured Replies

Well, popped down to Impossible yesterday as I needed my rear arb clamps checking (thanks for sorting me out Mike) and bumped into Delcac with his hardcore Vrs.

I was lucky enough to get to go out in the car for a spin....once i had shoehorned myself into the bucket seat (ahem breath in!) anyway.....all i can say is F**K ME.........!

What a car, we were not even running near full power (60ish percent....correct me if im wrong Des), this thing is incredible, and what i couldnt get over was despite the ability to wheel spin through the gears this car really really handled well.

I thought the only way ahead to deal with big power was 4x4, and having owned several powerful 4x4s i always believed this to be true, however this doesnt seem to be the case, and i was so impressed at how well the car held the road (remember it was cold and damp yesterday too). Now I am sure some of this is down to Des being a good driver as i think i would just end up wheel spinning the car down the road (probably into a bush or worse) but none the less.....

Hats off, to an amazing car and a top bloke!

Cheers Des!

It's an animal that car. And Des is alright I suppose.....

:D:thumbup:

i am still grinning as i just cant get over how fast it was, i went in a modded rs6 last yr, and this was faster!!!

Prob is my car just feels slow now:(

not suprised with that engine even before it was this quick it was trying to throw itself off the rollers:rofl:

jkm should be intersting to see what she does at full boost :D :D :D

I wanna go i wanna go i wanna go !!!!!!!!!

If I fitted in the seat I'd have had a go by now

yes, the buckets dont really cater for a fuller figure:rolleyes:

if the rs6 is modified to 500bhp(not difficult) and des is running full power 400bhp(apparently) then the weight difference(i'd guess des's at about 1200kg due to being empty, completely) then that would give des in the region 60bhp/ton more and much lower transmission loses so as long as he can put it down it should be noticibly faster :)

but that is only as long as you can put all your power down, no good having 400bhp and only being able to get 200bhp down on the tarmac(not saying this is the case for des but more of a general point), power is useless without control, and this is where 4x4 comes in as it means useless drivers like myself can actually use the power :)

They don't even cater for my svelte backside.:(

I think the Desmobile is nearer to 500/550 bhp at full power, unless I am mistaken, which happens alot.

i think he has a little more than 400bhp :D :D

 - regardless, it will be pretty nippy :P

I keep lookin at the pics of the beast,

I would love to see her in the flesh. your one lucky bugger to get a go.

billy

Having been in it on numerous occasions when its run at nearly full boost........... Its kin "AWESOME"

I might try and get a cheeky ride in it if he brings it to the next meet

Had a ride in it on the slalom course at last years North Weald handling day, but it was in the afternoon when it rained so couldn't put any power down at all... made an amazing noise though!

Thought my ears were burning. :o

Good to meet you Sweedish.

58% BTW, otherwise we would have died.

I'll put some proper tyres on next time and not some silly winter ones.

Good to meet you too, and thanks again!!!

lol, 58%.....I cant believe how powerful it was!

I can only imagine (or hope) to see it in the summer running more power and a decent set of summer shoes!

As said previously, the other crazy thing is the noise, its an animal! We had 2 bikers infront of us for a bit on the twisties, and i'm sure they both pulled over because they were scared of the noise:thumbup:

I thought he had Sparco Evo2 seats in the beast, these are meant to cater for the larger chap. Was hoping to get some for mine when the time is right.

having seen this car at trax last year, all i can say is what a beast!!

would love a blast in it.

Amazing Motor - Always loved it hence why I put it up for CoTM....
