longitudinal acceleration transducer (code 001279)

Featured Replies

Just found this code. I've done a search and its come back with no results. Apparantly its an MOT failure so will have to be done at some point. Any idea what it is and how much? Had the problem for a while now and need it sorting. Thanks very much

IIRC, it is just above the other sensors on the steering column. The stealers will want £300+ to replace this.

Do you have any warning lights on the dash?

I have the abs and the esr light on, both yellow. Its not getting done at Skoda so i hope it wont cost £300.

It probably will, the sensor isnt cheap.

£300  What does it do, sounds airbag related but I assume not as no airbag light.

Just the name sounds expensive though :(

flippin heck. The code is also G251 but im not sure why they are different. I dont want to spend £300 and it not be right. I take it that once the part has been changed, thats it? It wont be realted to anything else will it? :(

G251 is just the VAG part code (Not the part number though) not a fault code. Just gives the parts guys an easier time if you quote it. HTH

Ok, thanks. the garage said they were getting the part from Skoda but didn't have a price for me. They were getting the price tomorrow amd are going to ring me up. When i know the numbers, i'll let everyone know. Looks like a couple of hundred quid atleast.

Its a sensor for the ESP. Its a combined sensor that monitors the rate of acceleration and deceleration for the ESp system to work. It will need to be fitted and programmed to the system.

IIRC, the part no is 1J0 907 651 A

This is what you are looking for

27001.attach

27002.attach

Make sure you get the whole module and not just the little circuit board that goes inside. I've seen both offered on the same code!

Another thought...

These sensors are common across VAG and may be cheaper from VW or Audi. Skoda tend to be more expensive for the same thing.

So, does anyone know a price for one fitted? Local garage. A rough price will help me sleep. I thought it was just one part....Any questions i should be asking one the phone tomorrow morning?

Thankyou

It is just one part. The part being levered out in the picture is the G251 (the other part in the 1st picture is the G200 sensor). From memory the price is about £100

Final result is here then for anyone else who gets the same code. I found that the local garage didn't want to do the work and told me to go to Skoda which i thought was strange. Anyway i decided to go to Awesome and sort it there. The part was around £100 and they charged me an hours labour to fit it so was around £150 which i was delighted with.:D
