Hi all !

I have an 05 octavia classic 1.9 TDI auto. Had it since new and its done 86k. a couple of weeks ago started giving problems with starting when hot ; always starts but have to crank it a lot. When it is cold or just warm there is no problem. I bet one of you has the answer to this one because I'm getting the impression that this is a common fault and not just with Skodas.

Many thanks for the "Welcome" notes from SMS text, gilly wibble,Skodaboy1983 and dave370_1.

I 've acted on the suggestion by gillywibble to check out the posts on Octavia under "hot starting problems". The most common suggested solution is to replace the starter motor. However the starter motorworks fine. If it were a lazy starter then I'd have no hesitation in replacing it. One suggestion is that it may be running rich but surely that applies to petrol engines and not to diesel ones. Anyone else got sound suggestions ??

Welcome, hope you get your problem sorted.
