Pie in the Sky

Featured Replies

Prompted by reading Missp's plans to supercharge Lissy it got me thinking bout the lack of a high (or even medium) powered petrol Fabia.

I expect to get harpooned for this but why are there no Fabia's out there with Octy or other VAG 2.0T engines?

Is a complete engine/drive train swap physically impossible or would it simply prove too expensive?

Opinions, comments and no doubt abuse  welcome

There's always the mustang beating Fabia 2 litre. Apparently it's like a rocket.

Transplant a Mk4 Ibiza 1.8t into it :) Pretty much everything's the same.

Bit of engine mods and a turbo kit = 400bhp fabia :)

That Kev is exactly the kinda thing i was thinking.

Black cloud creating 260 BHP diesels is lovely but a screaming petrol would be a completely differnet beast. Although 400BHP might be a little extreme (for me anyway)

Jabba don't fancy a project car do they?

I'll source the donor vehicles if you guys do all the work!:rofl:

my god this is freaky!!

me and kev were talking about this at the pub last night LOL

find a mk4 ibiza 20v thats been rolled!! stronger internals more boost and you have a 400bhp brick!!

something i'd also like to do but its all money money money money money.........

I know Bill of Badger 5 has exactly that - a mk 4 ibiza with 517BHP which is/has been attempting to race at Castle Combe - however I went to 90% of meets last year and saw it once!:thumbdwn:

I have neither the ability, inclination or bottomless pit of money to do it myself but given the obsessive nature of most Briskodians I wondered why it hadn't been already!

But Kev clearly theres a market there! Get Brian to sign it off as a project!

You'd be wrong there, Bills Ibiza is a mk3 :)

We're talking about the later mk4 shape :)

It'd take a lot to convince brian that jabba should pay for an engine transplant in my fabia ;)

- Kev :)

oh god its so tempting....but i just spent 800 on a clutch that i wouldn't be able to use if i started the project.....unless i put the vrs engine in the golf.........hmmmm.......DAMN YOU KEV

I'm sure someones posted this link before:

Enjoy:)

Oops a rookie mistake and i had a mark 4 yellow Ibiza too!

Either way it's a mental machine.

And Brian seemed like a reasonable bloke stick a thread on petitioning the work and we'll all sign it and he'll HAVE to do it!!

Woohoo I am an inspiration!!! :D haha. Wasnt Duggie thinking of a 1.8t transplant into Felix? (Felix currently has same engine as Lissy)

I certainly was and when I saw Lummox on sunday he seemed to think that it could be done pretty easily (pretty please mate)... if peeps are willing to help felix is a willing donor car, just need to get my insurance claim money through!

-Duggie.
