Getting to grips with the Superb now and have spent a few evenings reading the manuals, and wonder if someone could point me in the right directions on these queries.

The Sat Nav

Believe it's a Blaupunkt 2 din Nexus system, which is CD based. Is it possible to add POIs to the system in any way ..... especially speed cameras? I would imagine that as it's CD based, that would mean writing a CD with extra files burnt on to it which I would imagine would be difficult given that it's probably protected.

Is it possible to have the Sat Nav show the current speed of the car on the screen? Have looked through the settings but can't find an option, so assume that it's no.

The audio system shows an auxiliary input which apparently can have a TV tuner fitted, which I have no need of, but an MP3 player connection would be good. Does anyone know where the auxilairy input connector physically lives and what the connection is.

Thanks

I can't actually give you a definitive answer on any of the points :o (some use this post is then!) but I think you've already arrived at the correct answers. The iPod/mp3 topic has recently been covered in some detail on a couple of threads. A search will give you all the info you need, I'm sure.

cheers

POI's should be technically possible but sadly I'm unsure how this particular unit functions in this respect, and Baker will happily oblige as to the aux-in option as he runs a PS2 in his car.

(and every time I talk about his installation I get it wrong, so I'll leave it to him)

However:

On the Superb I, this would only be possible if you fitted a speed pulse sensor as the non-CAN wiring of the Superb I doesn't have one. Your other other option is to use the GPS, but I'm unsure if you can fiddle with the settings.

1) I am afraid that there is no way to show your actual speed on the Sat Nav however you can, by pressing a series of buttons at once, on the climate control panel show your speed digitally;

2) The AUX input on the back of the DX unit can be used for running a TV or as I have done a PS2 but I am afraid, as far as I know, the only way to run an MP3 player on the DX unit is to get a lead that plugs into the CD Changer input which means you loose your CD Changer.

HTH..........

Ah. How do you get sound from your PS2 then? Surely it's connection is 3RCA...?

Lunchtime is it Bluefox..........

Audio and Video is provided into one plug into the AUX connection on the back fo the DX by this little box of fun:

Certainly is!!

That's annoying. I was hoping I could just use a standard twin phono aux-in, I've had my eye on something like a DX for a while and I'm not for one of those new fangled podi things.

Well if I manage to change the Superb this year as planned then I will happily sell you my DX..........:D

Let's maybe have a chat about it this weekend as in all seriousness if I trade the car in then I'm happy to put standard parts on it.........

I may well be shooting myself in the foot here as I know this works on the MKIV platform, as I used to have this working on the Bora, so I am hoping it works on the Superb but in all honesty I haven't checked:

Step 1.- Start the car engine.

Step 2.- Press at the same time on the Clima: ECON-COLD(the blue square)-UP

Step 3.- You will see some numbers on the screen of the clima. On the left, you can see the info of each code, which you can change by pressing the blue (UP) and red (DOWN) squares on the climate control unit.

Code's should be as follows:

Not got time to head out to the car and try this but feel free to prove me wrong.........:o

Hmm... tempting, but Kph ? Maybe I won't bother - unless I go abroad sometime.

In honesty I've seen this discussed on here previously, so I'm sure it's possible

I'm not 100% sure of the key presses as I can't find the thread, but I do know it works on a Superb and there's only so many ways you can make an omelette.

Tried it this morning while sat outside the garage for a few 'rolling repairs' and seems to work fine on my unit...........
