Sky+ / Multiroom question

Featured Replies

We're having Sky HD installed next week and having our sky+ box moved upstairs with multiroom. The new HD box will have the existing viewing card in it and the existing sky+ box will have a new viewing card in it.

What i want to know is will we still be able to access any recordings we have on the sky+ box after it's been moved and paired to the new viewing card??? Or do we need to get everything watched over the next week or so??

Anybody who has had their existing sky+ box moved as part of a multiroom setup confirm please?

Cheers

Dave.

I was still able to view recordings when I did the same thing :)

Isn't it a simple hard drive that is activated by Sky? As long as your account is current, there shouldn't be a problem.

It will work so long as there's a Sky+ subscription active on whichever viewing card is in it (which of course there will be).

However I don't see why they'd switch the viewing cards like that, sounds like more hassle than it's worth. I would expect them to stick the new card in the new box.

you mean youve not aked shaun?!!

k:)

A sky+ box will only record/play if you have SKY+ activated by SKY , there use to be a subscription charge for SKY+ , there is none now , but you do have to be activated , thats only a phone call . Had this answer when i phoned this week about setting up a spare sky + box , however if there are 2 machines you do need Multiroom charge and an active phone line . in both .
