Get Swift Covered

Featured Replies

I picked up my shiney new VRS last saturday, absolutly adore the car, its the most enjoyment i've had out of driving in a while, however i was taken aback when the 7 day skoda insurance ran out and had to add the car to my existing policy, now the policy ends in april and they wanted an extra £125 off me to insure the Vrs. Holy ****.. I had no choice but to pay up, but i did ask them for a renewal quote, £1100. Errm i think not:finger:. I went on confused.com and couldnt find anything under £800. Until i tried SwiftCover.com, the one that Iggy Pop advertises on TV. And i was amazed, they quoted me £500 fully comp exact same cover as my current one and the excess is lower. Just to test it my mate at work quoted his car and it nocked £400 off his insurance. Just thought i would share this with you all, you never know, it could save you a few bob.

Just hope you never have to make a claim with them, then you'll realise why their premiums are so cheap :thumbdwn:

Redundant quote deleted.

They wouldn't quote for me (too young for the car apparently) but they do appear to be cheap from what I've heard. Although as we all know, cheap isn't always the best.

It is when you are still in Uni and all you're interested is the cheapest car insurance. I'm with them on my vRS and it's costing me £850 fully comp with 2 years no claims. Very few companies like young drivers so for now the cheapest is the best until I get older and more companies are unlocked to me.

Did you not look at insurance prices before you bought the car? A touch reckless

And may I ask why you think im reckless??? I was going to buy the car anyway. An insurance quote would not have put me off.

Bet it would if it was £2000

hahaha yeah prob wud but i have 5 years NCB and i owned an Audi TT a couple of years ago that cost me £900 so i was pretty confident i could get a decent price for the insurance.

No single insurance company is ever "the cheapest". They all say they are, but this is, quite frankly, ****. If there was one that was magically cheaper and better for everyone then all the others would very quickly find themselves without business.

The advice with insurance is always the same - shop around. And do it every year. Because the company that gets your business this year will almost always NOT be the cheapest for you next time around. Insurance is a very fickle business! The comparison sites make the leg work easier, but there are still some (directline being the obvious one) who ae worth checking too. And check all the comparison sites - some of them have different deals with different insurers and can give difference prices

Don't crash, you'll be fine.

I picked my 57 plate up on the 31/1/08 and i'm now paying £1100 fuly comp, 3 years no claims and business use for 25,000 miles:mad:

I had the insurance all sorted out before picking the car up with "more than" at £550 but then i discovered THEY had made the mistake but they said they would still honour it. A telephone call back and they said they couldn't do it and would need requoting. £950:eek: and then another department within "more than" £1200:mad: at that point i put the phone down.

I settled on admrial as i'd had them before and was desperate as i had just arranged to give my company car back a day after picking up my car.
