For christs sake ain't it just a piece of metal with a badge on it or is it really key to have an 09 plate rather than a 58 one, does it change the value of the car that much.

For the sake of 3 weeks or so i'd rather have a 09 plate rather than get a 58 Plate. I know that doesn't help as you want your car but it will probably better for resale in the long run if its a 09

Just my opinion as i would think the car was 6 months older than it was if i came to buy it off you in a couple of years.

Is it really at the dealers - or is it just caught up in a chain of awaited 'dealer deliveries' all due for handover in March. The dealer will have to pay Skoda for the car within a certain period after he receives it, so it is unlikely he will want to hold on to the car through choice after he has received it.

Its a company car, but had two delivery dates already, both missed, so this is the third and my faith is starting to disappear.

Relax, I had to wait 5.5 months! It'll get here soon enough.

If it's within 2 months of the new registration, our leasing company will delay delivery until the new plate is available, so I'm not surprised they are making you wait.

It's crap, but there you go.

My new company car was delivered on Monday with a 58 plate, sounds like it may be a fob off.

It took me almost 6 months to get my car, but that was down to our painfully slow/inefficient procedures at head office. Once the car was actually ordered it only took 5 weeks to arrive.

Well I placed the order with fleet in October, you really don't want to know when they actually placed the order with Jewsons

And then I passed a Rosso coloured S2 near Gt Kingshill today just to rub it in.

What sort of things mate, my mate had issues around the 90k mark, and I'm not far away from it now, any advice welcomed.

I have now asked of proof of this as it is the third delivery date they have given me, if not then i'm just gonna cancel the order and go with a less capable Passat or even a Mondeo.

it is just the specific dealer...probably the delayed the order of the car from the factory in cz...hence the delays...

ask them for something extra due to the delays...i am sure they will do something about it....

Ring SUK and ask them if there are any problems with delivery, from whats written I'd say your car is 98% built and waiting on a bit before it ships, I know it's frustrating waiting but trading down to a Mondeo isn't the answer they look awful imo, Passat is an option, but it's due a facelift in the next 12 mths so you will find yourself in an old spec car in no time at all, hope it works out for you.

Got it Yesterday with a joyous 7 miles on the clock. Its up to 10 now

Got to say, the first day was great and the ride is brilliant, just got to get used to all the new buttons now and load up all my music.
