Clutch Hydraulics Problem

Featured Replies

Hi, I wondered if anyone could shed any light on a clutch problem I'm having at the moment?

It's a Fabia vrs 04 ASZ. The pedal went to the floor one day, seemed like the master so I swapped it and bled it and it was fine for a few days. Then the pedal started to go again, along with a small fluid leak around the bleed tee. No amount of trying could stop the leak (between the o-ring where the bleed nipple carrier is inserted into the tee) so we swapped the part for a revised item, 1JO 721 468 C, the new part also had a leak in the same place so was exchanged with the dealer. The exchange item also has a leak there too. It appears to be leaking around the o-ring as mentioned and also through the bleed nipple thread as if it's not sealing correctly.

When bled it will last for a day or so but after that the pedal bite will drop slowly and consequently disengagement is at the very end of the travel, accompanied by the trace of fluid around the bleed tee. Has anyone got any experience with problematic hydraulics on these? If so any advise would be appreciated.

not had any probs on my 04 Vrs , although i have never touched the clutch hydraulics

maybe there is a small bit of dirt in the area where the bleed screw goes which is stopping it from sealing

unfortunetely you may have to bite the bullet and take the gearbox out to fit a new slave cylinder
