Even a standard fabia is fantastic fun on smooth, sweeping welsh A roads. Can't beat it, puts a smile on my face every time :)

'Tis all.

I agree. I did 250 miles yesterday. Up the M54. Day around the backroads of Wales, to the beach. Back down the M54. Over 50 mpg even with making good progress.

Forgot to mention I'm also loving today's temperature hike. 10.5c on the outside temperature gauge and my MPG is back up in to the mid-50s, even when averaging 65mph on a 90 mile journey :)

Do you have a silver fabia vrs with a private reg by any chance?

  • Author

Nope red fabia vrs with normal everyday reg :D

Did you meet a silver one driving briskly or something? There are a couple of guys around Hereford way who travel brecon and cardiff way quite often, one of which definitely has a private plate (spotted driving between Hereford and Brecon in what must have been triple figures one day - don't think they're a member on here as they didnt respond to my post in "spotted, was it you?")

Correct - you can forget your 911s, M5s etc ;)

Might have been a slight exaggeration ;).

Silver one with Private reg starting with T8

Always see it on the A470 over the Beacons, gave a flash but no reaction.

Lol - Bring it over to Martley - lovely drive on the Worcs-Martley road!

The worcs-martley road is spoiled by the ridiculously long 30mph speed limit in Broadheath which is promptly followed by a 40mph speed limit. Were it not for these two stretches that would be a favourite drive of mine; do it quite often as it's my route to Worcester (I live just the other side of Clifton upon Teme which is 5miles the other side of Martley, approximately)

Pop in for a cuppa then! :p I live crawling distance from The Crown in martley!

I still forget they extended that 30 limit (going towards Marltey from Worcs) and accelerate just when you start going down the hill) (before the old turning for Peachly Quad trecking) I aim to overtake anyone infront of me before you hit that first corner afterwards otherwise it just completely spoils the fun. I find people are way to cautious around some of those corners

or even better - come to the Rubbadubz meet tomorrow night and pick me up on the way!!!

You can overtake in your car? :D;)

I am down in Martley every Wednesday night at Martley Sports centre playing football. Also down Monday, Tuesday, Thursday at about 5.30pm in a red Fabia vRS (same place) making my gym membership worth the money. You'll spot me one day! :D

What's with the "Malvern" in your location - that's miles away :D

Cheeky wotsit!!! She dont do bad for a 1.4 I'll have u know... just wait till the supercharger goes in :D WOOOO

I work at The Chantry! I'll have to work late one time and catch u going in. Usualy pick my boy up from Martley Primary by 5 as they charge me per half hour after 3.15.

Oh and I used to live in The'Vern - forgot to update that bit. Moved to Martley so that I could walk to work :D

;)Is this a "Forum" romance starting to blossom? ;) can't wait for the next instalment.;)

Now you spoilt it! Only 26months. Took me 20years to get settled.

I do a frequent B road run, between Livingston and South Queensferry. Sometimes in the Moggy Traveller, but for the last three months in the VRS. Biker mates, still point out that I am grinning like a dog with two tails when I arrive. :D I do love my Furby, and apart from a PCV mod, it's bog standard, although the BLT engine is chucking out 143 ponies

Get it re-mapped and your smile will turn into hysterical laughter

So will my insurer's accountant's smile.

So will my insurer's accountant's smile.

I put the alloys and coiles on Lissy just before I was due to renew my insurance. I went to a well known comparison website for a quote and it was LESS than the renewal I had been quoted before modding her!!!

And Soot1e ... never mix cars with pleasure dude ;)

Been saying that sinceI got my little un - says 75bhp on the box -she don't believe that .

Told she don't perform well in snow - I'm still looking for the suction pads she rides so well .

And the trips to Scotland ,round Loch Lomand , down the Argyll single track negative camber roads ,up to Inverness - been there in bigger more powerful cars ,but never had as much fun .Wide bends ,tight roads - excellent -only niggle is that the gearbox could possibly have taken a sixth gear ,especially with the torque on the flat from the 1.4 diesel -to keep the revs down about NSL
