Rear Seats

Featured Replies

I have a Superb II, and please dont get me wrong because it is a great car. But today I tried to sit in the rear seats (instead of my usual wonderful driving position).

There is no headroom. Admittedly I am over 6 ft high but I couldn't sit in the rear seat without keeping my head bend down, and the "head rest" was just about level with my shoulder blades.

Is it just me or have they made the rear seats much higher than those in the Superb I so that there is space for the drive shafts in the 4 wheel drive version?. Have they also lost headroom because of the fancy rear tailgate opener?

Something seems to have happened and it restricts your rear passemngers to about 5 ft 9 inch (or thereabouts)

Does anyone else agree?

I'm 6'4" and don't find it a problem, though not sat there too often, but was quite happy. Do you have a sunroof at all? That'd lower the interior roof lining.

I'm 6'1" and i also didnt have an issue in the demo car i sat in

i agree that the seat is higher - i sat int eh back on a test drive and noticed the view from the rear was good due to the elevated position. great for the kids. I cant comment on headroom as I am only 5ft4 !!

The width in the rear is narrower than my passat (which presumably is the same as the superb mark 1 ?). my wife can squeeze in between the two kiddies seats in the passat but not in the superb. the kiddis seats are identical in both cars.

I have just had a chance to sit in the Superb again, and while someone over 6ft tall might find it a little tight, at 6ft tall myself I found I had no problem. As for the head rest, you must not have raised it to it's highest setting, my head was able to rest back on it nicely
