Which air filter is best for vRS?

Featured Replies

On standard Fabia vRS which air filter is best:

OEM (paper)

K&N (cotton panel?)

Green (cotton panel)

Pipercross (foam)

Jetex (cotton panel)

OEM fits perfectly

Green doesnt

That is the limit of my own personal experiance.

I would personally stick with the OEM as most performance filters are oiled. If the oil gets on your air mass meter it will shag it.

I have always run Jetex panel filters,as have all my mates/colleagues. They fit very well

Paper replaced every 10k for me (standard vrs)

I have a pipercross one. Fits perfectly and doesn't require any oil so no MAF issues.

Is there any performance difference, Probably not but a quick wash every 5K and its as good as new. Sounds better that OEM also.

Sound better, hmmm, interesting. You mean sounds like more performance :mischief:

I have had my Green in the last 2 cars I have had and it's been great. It will only cause MAF issues if your a muppet when you clean it. The only downside is that you do have to be careful when you replace the box as it can slip down.

I doubt any any panel filter will "improve" performance but they are good at keeping the smoke down

That's what I need, to keep the smoke down, its like I'm burning tyres out the back when I floor it.

OEM paper one changed every service.

I have used a k&n one for 56,000 miles with nps and it fits like a glove

Oh and yes the 2.0 shares the same air box as the vRS :)

Oen paper. Cheaper and you don't have to pay more on your insurance. Didn't notice any difference when I had a green and pd160 intake pipe.
