Track Etiquette at Trax

Featured Replies

I assume we are all going to be sensible :-

  • No overtaking on corners
  • No overtaking under braking
  • Overtaking by concent
  • Pulling over to allow faster cars through
  • No flashing of lights or hand gestures

At the end of the day, it'll be about half a dozen laps (or 3 or 4 for the Furbies) so lets not ruin anyones day by bending any metal.

Plus I'm not insuring for the day :D

Depends on the Furbie :D

(not mine though :( )

I'm sure there will be a drivers' briefing and I expect Briskodians (on previous acquaintance) to be amongst the most level-headed and courteous drivers all day.

Yes, the driver briefing will probably be very strict (I suspect less good natured than at Brunters) in explaining the rules. Don't forget to be on time for the briefing. No briefing, no tracktime.

Your work mate isn't from N. Ireland is he??? Tsk Tsk we mustn't hit priests, mad or otherwise (PS is there another kind of Irish priest?)

Wildlife's safe then.

The briefing at Silverstone is always the same. It's not very heavy handed and track etiquette is explained with a few funnies. To be honest, it's up to us to make the session enjoyable for everyone.

I have done many track days and quite a few TRAX and the clubs tend to drive better amongst themselves than when you get mixtures of cars and groups who seem to have something to prove....

A big problem is that many cars are evenly matched on the straights (even lowly Furbies and Octies) and the only place that anybody experienced can make up time is in the braking and cornering.

It's up to us all to play fairly and keep an eye in our mirrors. If anybody catches up with me, they will be going VERY fast and I WILL move over to let them past!!

Really looking forward to the day. Weather even looks good! (whoops, should I have said that?)

Yes, you mean for instance, a silver taxi filling the rear view mirror in the corner and then disappearing backwards on the straights.......

indeed this will be my third Trax track day, I will be moving over for anyone that wants to go faster than me, I dont really care if I'm the slowest person on the track or quickest as long as I get what I want out of it which is a bit of fun and a chance to really open the furby up!

I've been on the track with other cars before and I have found they always try to prove something. As far as I'm concerned to me my car is the best :P so I have nothing to prove!
