Sold A8v as per Fabia_uk's wanted ad, tested when martziniuk recently posted in wanted with a 3200+ athlon x2, before we realised it was the wrong chip form

I think we're either at a CPU error or bios version issue?

The board you sold me had bios revison 1003 the version i require is 1007 which enables the use of amd opteron 165 cpu, i have tried single channel memory in all slots even though it states B1 dimm should work.

I have tried a 400w psu twice, i havent tried my 620w psu incase it is a power issue. ihave the p4 connecter plugged in before anyone suggests it.

I have reseat the cpu in the ziff socket but it still dont post or display.

I have tried another graphics card and ram from another pc and they work but do not in this.

I believe the bios chip i have been sold isnt 1007 which i have yet to receive confirmation from the ebay seller, even though i requested that particular version as to Asus cpu support for the a8v dulexe.

I have tried 3 agp cards, gf 6200, gf4 ti4200, and an old geforce 128mb, got 2x1gb ddr 400 Corsair twinx and 1 stick of ddr 400 Corsair value, both work in my other p4 rig fine so the components work. the problem i bet the guy off ebay has sold a bios chip and not put the correct revision on it. So i need a lower cpu for skt 939 that works on bios 1003 so i can flash the bios upto 1007 so i can change the cpu to my amd opteron 165 x2 4600 e6 dual core cpu.

I've got a Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI sitting in a box ready to go to the tip if it's of any use to you? Can't remember what BIOS is in it unfortunately.
