As the title says really, how many shades of black did the Fabia come in, in any spec? I think I'm right in saying all Furby vRS's were Black Magic, though.. right?

I'm going to need a wing at some point and would like to find a painted one from a car that's being disseminated.. but if I found say, a black classic mpi, what black would it be?

Was there a flat black too, that I'll need to be aware of?

Only one colour name but usually there will be many shades over the years. Had my reflex silver 2002 Golf touched up by Chips Away a couple of times and they showed me the colour chart for VW's Seats and Skodas which listed 12 shades of Reflex silver. Our 1998 Seat Arosa colour is also called Black Magic but I'm sure there is one than 1 shade.

So best bet would be to try and find a wing of as close an aged car as possible maybe?

That would help, even better to take one off your good panels with you and compare.

Tried the Half' spray can and was nothing like the correct shade, you wont find an exact match that way, thats why I went to Chips Away. Mind you Black is an easier colour to match up with small chips/scratches but changing a whole panel it wil show up a bit more.

You can find the paint code for your car on the details sticker in the boot or in your service book. If you just make sure the paint code is the same, you can`t do much more.

There could be problems with paint fade and how it has been maintaned, but...

I work at Halfords - the paint on the shelf is crap - always ask for it to be made up for you, even if it costs £3 more. The paint match is much better! I've tried both on a crappy panel i've got kicking about and the one on the shelf and the one I mixed myself are completely different shades!

Don't think the mis match of a spray can will be an issue, if I do have to re paint a whole new/used wing I'll get it done at a body shop cuz I'll never get it looking factory myself, even if I took my time and used 10 cans of clear coat.
