favorit fuel filter

hi all

is there any reason why the

fuel filter cant be mounted on the bulkhead in the engine bay

as above the tank is not a easy place to work

thanks

I too have wondered the same. I assume all you'd need to do is to safely and properly join up the lose fuel hoses left by removing the old fuel filter, and make up some sort of clamping arrangement in the engine bay, possibly selecting a different filter with appropriately sized connectors. If I understand my physics the pressure of the fuel at the injector shouldn't be less than it is at the fuel pump (unless there's a petrol leak), so the location choice made by Skoda can't be anything to do with that.

You only have to replace it every few years anyway, so is replacing it now and then again in a few years more - or less, hassle than spending the time now sorting it out to put the filter in the engine bay.

Surely it would be best to remove a short length of pipe either side of the filter and transplant that into the engine bay then add in a short bit of pipe in place of where the filter was. That way you are keeping the connectors and filter standard.

there shouldn't be a problem i don't think, just make sure your fuel ines dont leak where you join them and strap the fuel filter in properly. there would be big trouble if it fell off and a line come off it..
