vRS FabiA3 - new alloys

Featured Replies

Got some alloys off a mk1 A3 (I think).

Gonna make me a FabiA3 hybrid, assuming the wheels will fit (5 x 100) 16" x 7"?

Photochopped one onto the rear wheel to see how it looks. What do you think?

Rims are in pretty good shape but not 100% so was thinking of getting them refurbed. Anyone know a good place to get them done in South of England at reasonable cost.

Couple of wheels are only a bit scratched, 1 has weather damange, 1 kerbed a bit, overall could go on the car like they are, but I'd prefer them to be mint before they go on.

Will probably put my current tyres – 205/45/16 on new rims to save costs.

Your thoughts suggestions welcome, I'm new to all this modding lark.

Is that a Mini or a Bentley reflecting in your door panel.. lol could go either way with the distortion! I think your wheels might be what folk tend to refer to as mini comps?

Rob

.

- oh, can see the wheel arch now, must be a mini! ;)

Correct, its the neighbour's mini, nice car.

Mini comps eh? So we are sure they will fit then?

I got them off ebay for £75, no idea if this is good or bad.

Just cleaning them up a bit now.

They are Audi Competition Alloys - often called A3 Comps or TT Comps depending onteh car they came from. They should be something 5x100, ET38 to be a perfect fit (and I think they are). This is stamped inside the rim, so it's easy to check.

For £75 they were a bargain, and I would also recommend BJV Engineering, although your car will get dirty on the little lanes into their workshops (Nissen Huts:D).

Now I've got one all cleaned up I can see details from inside rim. There are various numbers visible, as follows:

SL1404, 7JX16H2, ET31, 8N0601025C, ST5, AlSi7Mg, SPEEDLINE

yeah they fit :)

all the way down on coilies :)

I just got some Mini Comps, and there great.

Although, you will need it lowered, as its made my car look like its on stilts.

Dave

Just get them refurbed and stuck on and stop worrying ;)

Look the dogs danglys when lowered.

I'm putting my stock 205/45/R16 tyres on (Bridgestone Turanza ER300), bit of a stretch but should be OK.

yeah they fit :)

Jay - is there a popular rim that your Fabia hasn't had at some point in its life?! :P

Quite possibly not, on set 9 and im keeping these, anthracite comps :) mmmm

Well they closed that "other" thread down real quick, what'd I do wrong? :(

You advertised that you had wheels for sale (even if its a "not yet for sale" thread)without paying for Freedom membership which give you permission to do so!

it's only a quid a month go join the green side!

Never would have thought anthracite and Black Magic would go together but boy does it work!! :D

Lets hope my anthracite Spiders work with Corrida red - if not anyone fancy making them white for free?!
