2002 Octy vRS - rubbing noise from rear wheel

Featured Replies

Hi,

As it says I have a 2002 Octy vRS and I've noticed a rubbing/squeeking noise from the rear passenger side wheel. It is noticeable at low speeds and gets louder when taking a sharp left hand turn. I can't hear it at higher speeds and I'm sure it's not there constantly either. Any ideas what may be causing this?

Regards.

Sounds like a wheel bearing. I had an off side one going and the noise was worse when it was under less load when turning right.

Thanks for that. If that is the case is it a big job to get sorted; I assume the bearing gets replaced?

They replace the bearing and hub assembly as it's all 1 unit. Part number 1J0598477
