Gearbox oil leak?

Featured Replies

During recent service the protocol showed that my gearbox needed "topping up" (no indication of how much though). Is this normal or indicative of a leak somewhere?

Car is Fabia 1,2 12v, two months away from end of warranty:eek:, has done 60,000km and was originally delivered with too much oil in the box (corrected after 2 months!)

Appreciate any tips, i have requested that the dealer find out just how much oil went "awol" from the mechanic (don't you just love centralized customer reception systems in vag dealers )

Most likely leaking at the driveshaft seals. Depends how much it needed, but after 60K a little topping up could be considered normal. If it's not leaking at the driveshafts, it could be leaking into the clutch housing (1st motion shaft seal)
