Front Brake Disc Thickness

Recommended Posts

I noticed last week, when my tyres were getting changed, that my pads were getting low and there was a quite thick lip on my front discs, especially on the inner surface. So this afternoon I decided to take the wheels off and measure them with a Micrometer. At the thinnest part (near the edge) they were 22.75mm and 22.65mm.

The discs are not ridged and are in quite good condition, I don't suffer from brake judder. Should I replace the discs when I order new pads next week?

Thanks Ross for such a quick answer.

I was going to put a set of Green Stuff pads on it and see if they are as bad as people say they are, then when they get low, replace the discs. I know that the EBC pads are relatively softer than others and therefore prolongs the discs. As mentioned before we have used EBC brakes on 3 of our cars with no problems.

I suppose If the minimum is 22 mm, then I have only 3/4 mm to play with, at the edge anyway. I took some pics and resized and attached them here.

I will discus new Discs with EBC when ordering pads. I am very temped to buy their Black Ultmax Slotted Discs.
