Busy Weekend - new Splitter and parking sensors - fitted

Featured Replies

Well, as the title says, spent a fair few hours on the drive at the weekend, as decided to fit the Leon Cupra R Splitter, and parking sensors front and back.

Wasn't a bad job really - just put the car up on ramps to fit the splitter, worked from the middle out with the screws, no cutting of the corners required, as managed to 'persuade' it to fit nicely....

The parking sensors weren't too bad either, the rear was fine, no problems, as easy to drill, loads of space, and a nice grommet in the spare wheel well to take the wires inside.

As for the front, the 2 next to the number plate weren't too bad, but the ones on the corners had no room inside, so had to modify the sensors and make them smaller in depth, and was this was done, fit fine.

I then ran the wire for the switch and buzzer through the grommet next to the pollen filter, and fitted the buzzer behind the glove box and the switch just next to the gear gaiter. The power is ignition fed so won't drain if the switch is accidentally left on.....

Now for the pictures...........

Thanks, its amazing how much different the front looks now - really pleased.

Also, whilst I was in the rear light wiring, wired in the near side fog light to work too ;) Jsut another job I did - guess I couldn't sit still :D

Good work! How much did you pay for the sensors?

I got them for just under £20.00 each pre colour coded, and the switch was £1.50 from Maplin :D

I found it hard actually just to get sensors with a buzzer, as they all seem to come with those LCD displays, which I didn't want.

Top job
