Help please with immobilisor/ignition problem 98 felicia

Featured Replies

Hi

I`ve been directed here by other kind members.

98 felicia ignition barrel collapsed, got one from a scrap yard but its not working.

Have tried to find the chip in the key fob, but failed miserably!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Is there anyway of bypassing the immobilisor?

I just want to be up and running asap and cant afford the garage prices.

Any suggestions/advice would be very much appreciated.:):):)

If you pull the two halves of the key head apart you should see the transponder. It should look like a small rectangular cube of black plastic. They are usually stuck in and require careful cutting out. Alternatively you could cover the head of the new key with silver foil and hold the head of the old key close to the ignition lock every time you want to start the car. Or you could get a quote from a Skoda dealer to program the new key, or go to a key cutting place and get them to cut a key to the pattern of the key that fits your new lock and get them to copy the transponder data from your old key to the new one. Last Felicia key I had cut cost around £30.
