my girl friend has a 1.4 mpi fabia 2002

the car starts and runs fine idles okay etc, but when you put the head lights on they seem to flicker. has been happening for a while, also the pas light has come on a few times but goes off once you restart the engine.

i haven't really had time to put a meter on the battery etc to see if the charging system is okay, and after searching on this site one problem has been the DTM (blue) wire on the alternator. had a little look earlier and when you turn the ingition on the battery light comes on then goes out once the car is running.

is there anything else i can check?

Use the "SEARCH", think this subject has been covered a few times.............

Have the battery load tested. Flickering will be due to PAS pump, which can draw as much as 60 Amps.

after talking to my girl friend, she has now told me the car has stalled a couple of times after she has first started the car? also when the pas light has come on there has been no change in how heavy the steering has been.
