Octavia VRS Radio Code

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I disconnected my Skoda radio from my car to fit another one, but have now decided not to buy it.

Fitted my old one back in and I need a code. Looked all through the paperwork and books and manuals I got with the car but no sign of it. The only codes I can see is big sticker at the front of my service schedule with a load of codes on it.

I have trawled the net and people seem to be charging from £5 to £20... My local dealer say's I have to speak to the technical department on Monday.

Is the local dealer the best option?

Cheers,

Gary

Did you switch on the ignition when you turned on the original radio? The radio should display 'SAFE' briefly then 'LEARN'. Would have thought the original radio code would be retained by the car.

Yeah I turned in on.

It said safe for a few seconds then asked for a code.. never noticed the word LEARN.

Cheers anyway :)

When you turn the ignition on It should say "SAFE" then after a couple of seconds it should start up if it was the original radio for the car.

Unless its not been saved, they don't always do it.

Pop to your dealer and ask them for the code. Not sure on Skoda but we (VW) had a memo around a while back saying it must be done FOC.

Result, it worked :)

As SimonJ said earlyer, but it seemed to ask for a code then, god knows....

Thanks anyway guys
