SWMBO's Octy (petrol, 1.6 AKL engine) is due for a regular service. I was checking what has been done earlier and what items that should be changed and noticed that fuel filter is not mentioned in the service book, and hasn't been changed at earlier services (VAG garage). Surely it needs to be changed now and then?

Iirc It's supposed too be for life, I just bought one and change every so often as they are only cheap and easy too fit.

Thanks. I'll ask my mechanic what he thinks about it (independent this time). Fuel filters built for eternity is interesting and must admit that the engine runs OK, but after 120 K I guess a change will do no harm
