Windscreen ticket clip question

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Does anyone know if you can fit the windscreen ticket clip onto the nearside screen pillar?

I find the standard offside one really useful for car park tickets, and want to fit one to the nearside to hold my Driving Instructors Licence, which needs to be displayed nearside.

If I stick it, the examiners on driving tests pull it down to read my details.

Guessing there might me a hole in the pillar for LHD models.

The clip on the Octy2's are held on by a screw behind the pillar trim, so I would guess there will be a tapped hole on the nearside.

I didn't even notice there was a clip, is this on all Fabia's?

Will have to have a look tomorrow, i once got a parking ticket because my Pay and Display ticket thingy had blown over (writing side down), must of been when i shut my door or something. I appealed of course and got away with it (hospital car park :()

Don't even get me started on the charges for parking at the hospital!!!!!

my 53 plate has it, however, my mates 07 SE has it on passanger side for some reason

is it on the other side on LHD cars???

i have never seen this. can anyone point out exactly where it is, if indeed it exists on a 1.2HTp on an 03 plate.

Follow the A piller along till you get near the bottom of the windscreen, should be a little clear clip, easy to miss tbh.

As i said, the SE has it on the left hand side, maybe these were going to be LHD at first or something i dont know?!

Mine has it on the drivers side.....

Hummmm, intresting, im sure woodies is on the passanger side. How odd!

I'd love to get rid of it.... gets in the way of cleaning the windscreen :P

I had a quick look this morning but couldn't see it. Now i know it is clear, i will have a better look next time im in the car.

Maybe mine doesn't have it because its the poor mans (don't say womens:D) car, being a 1.4 mpi classic :o

It was a mid life tweak, pre dates the face lift but wasn't a feature on launch. Sounds like it came in mid 2003'ish.

My 04 vRS has, my Y(01) Elegance didn't.

.

Wasn't on my 02 Comfort, but both my 53 plate Octy Elegance and SWMBOs 04 Fabia Comfort have them.

Drivers side on my SE. Unless someone has a factory fitted one fitted on the N/S, I guess they would all be fitted on the right hand side of the car as this would make them kerbside on left hand drive. Interesting though, can see myself looking at every fabia i see to check.......

Well my furby (i love that name :D) is a sept 52 reg and it definatley doesn't have one. Although it is tiny things like this that do come in handy.

Maybe my vRS next year will have one ;)

I had one on mine too. Drivers side. Used to us it all the time. THen had the windscreen replaced and they broke it off

mine has and its a pretty early one so id think so  as said, quite handy to have, stops the wind blowing it away

Bought another one of these clips now and fitted to the near side. hole already there for it, so for all you driving instructors out there using fabias, you can fit one for your adi licence. Could also be useful for parking permit, disabled badge etc. Cost 17p from dealers!!! Got the self tapper for free. 5 min fitting. You need to pull a bit of the door seal down and carefully prise the pillar trim off.

If you don't have one as standard, it would be very easy to fit one so long as you were careful with the drill near the windscreen! Just hold it in place, n/s or o/s and mark and drill probably about 3 mm hole.

Just came accross this old post as I too wanted an additional clip for my ADI badge to clip in.... Glad to hear they are easy to come by...

Has anyone spotted the additional clip INSIDE the glovebox for tickets, bills, etc?

Then, on to the small clips on the glovebox door its-self! I have had the car for 4 months now and only noticed last week, these two semi-circular clips.... If you have noticed them and know what they are for, SHH! Lets let everyone else work it out for themselves! :giggle:

Oh, burglar!!! I realise this is quite old and also, the MK1.... Sorry! :(
