Barcode Scanner

Featured Replies

I need to use a barcode scanner with some electrical test equipment. Now ideally i would need a bluetooth scanner, however i have seen some serial to bluetooth adaptors and was wondering if i could use one of these with a standard barcode scanner.

Do the wired barcode scanners only take power from a piece of equipment they are connected to or is it possible to get a scanner that outputs power, specifically to pin 9 of its own rs232 d-sub connector?

There are some applications for windows mobile PDAs and Symbian mobiles that can capture barcodes, and record a few notes into to a comma seperated sheet

Thanks for the info.

Very hard, bought two cipherlab 1266, second hand. Can't get them to work with some PAT testing equipment though. Both pieces of equipment seem to see each other but will not actually pair up.

OK - sorry if I can across a bit sharp. Is there a hard/system reset you can do?
