Octavia fault code.

Featured Replies

HI, I apologise in advance for making my 1st post a plea for help !

An elderly gent in our village has a 2005 Octavia Ambiente 2.0 TDi.

He had a fault code which was read at the local dealers as P3103 V157 - Motor Intake Manifold Flap but they wanted almost £500 to supply & fit !

His son spoke to me and we found a manifold flap from Europarts, and his son fitted it in the week.

I borrowed VAG-COM form a fried of a friend to clear the codes, but after his 1st trip out in the car, the EML came on again.

I've just been up and read the codes and I have;

19558 Motor For Intake Flap (V157) No Signal P3102 - 000

17075 Fan 1 Control Circuit Low P0691 - 000

I've googled P3102 - 000 which come back as;

Possible Causes

  • Wiring/Connections from/to Motor for Intake Manifold Flap (V157) faulty

Possible Solutions

  • Check Wiring/Connections from/to Motor for Intake Manifold Flap (V157)
  • Check Motor for Intake Manifold Flap (V157)

I've checked the connector, and it looks good so I'm thinking the new flap may be faulty ?

However I can find anything relating to 17075 Fan 1 Control Circuit Low P0691 - 000

Can anyone point me in the right direction ?

Thanks.

P0691 relates to the engine cooling fan

17075 - Fan 1 Control Circuit: Short to GND

P0691 - 000 - - - Intermittent

I might be wrong here but don't you have to adapt the intake manifold flap once it's on?

Also check all the wiring is properly connected and there are no cuts in the wire that might cause a short.
