Oil Leak from TIP

Featured Replies

Hi all was tinkering today and noticed that I have an oil leak from the intake pipe at the back of the engine, it is where the PCV valve comes from the crankcase and goes back into the intake. There are drips of oil on my intake manifold.

I have been tinkering in this area as I had a catch can fitted for a while.

Everything seems tight, is it possible I've damaged a seal and it needs replacing? How is the pipe removed from the intake?

If it's the pipe that runs from rocker cover to inlet manifold. Rocker cover end is a spring clip, other end is a plastic ring, you push together the widest part of the ring and the hose pops off. IIRC there might be an o ring seal in there,

Right its been a while, I cleaned up the area to see if it would return but it has.

The pipe itself looks fine, but I have oil weeping from the round part connecting directly to the intake and also from the little adaptor thing.

How do you remove it all from the intake manifold?

Does anyone have any part numbers for what needs replacing?

I can't find the parts on VAG CAT/ ETKA

Just clean it off, they always leak and even new ones will eventually.

Really?

Yeah its only oil vapour sweating from the crankcase.

I've been tinkering in this area as I had a catch can fitted for a while.

As a matter of interest, why did you remove your catch can? - was it vented to atmosphere or back into intake?

I removed it as I wasnt really happy with the set up.

I have just picked up a proper baffled kit with everything needed designed specially for the ASZ engine, I'll get pics up when done
