Unfortunately my boot release lever decided to randomly die, you can't feel it doing anything at all when you pull it. It's a little annoying as i use the boot quite a bit and the levers always easier than messing round with keys.

Any advice on how to fix this swine of an issue?

might be worth taking off the trim panel on the tailgate to make sure the cable is still attached, you are indeed right, it is a swine of a job to fix it, you have to remove loads of trim pieces and bits and the drivers seat

When I first got my felicia the boot release didn't work.

I had a look at the back and it turned out that the cable had come free of the mechanism so just hooked it abck in and all has been fine!

I didn't even need to take the trim off at the back as you can see the mechanism underneath if you get your head right down.

As others, check it's not just unhooked at an end. If it's not "permission to swear" granted!

Thanks for your advice, took a look at it, there was a small spring that was unhooked and one of the pivoted "arms" wasn't able to move, hooked the spring back on and then prized a screwdriver underneath the metal that was stuck to free it, could feel that it was working better instantly, finsihed it off with a small application of wd40 and it's working again now. That's another worry resolved.

I'd use a light machine oil or graphite powder, rather than Water Dispersant-40.
