VRS Suspension on dsg estate

Featured Replies

Currently have a 105dsg estate and am interested in standard springs and shocks off a diesel vrs estate - is it a matter of a straight swap or will I need to change arms, bushes etc. Thanks

As far as I know its a straight swap; should make yours quite a sweet car.

One point; remember the vRS springs will lower your car by 10mm, not the 30mm provided by Skoda's 'Sport' springs or Eibachs. However, they will be stiffer so should improve the handling suitably, the ride will also be firmer.

Good luck.

Any difference in the estate and hatchback Vrs springs due to the extra load?

NO; only difference is the 1.4 and 1.6 petrol engined cars use different (front) springs to the rest of the range. 1.8 & 2.0 petrol plus all TDI use the same springs, hatch and estate.

See this list of Eibach springs and look at the Part Nos to verify;- Suspension - SKODA

I guess you whipped them up fj1200a? I was too slow :(

there might be a difference with the shock absorbers. there are two different sizes of strut diameter. the vRS has a 55mm shock. yours might well be a 50mm diameter. You would have to measure before you do it

Well you didn't hang around getting a set elsewhere (plus you get 30mm lowering, not 10mm from vRS springs)! :D well done; good luck.
