Ive just bought some Koni sport dampers from someone second hand am in the the process of getting some springs.

I am looking to fit it myself with a friend who is quite mechanically minded. Has any one else attempted this and is it relatively easy? I have had a look at the guides and the only thing between us we don't have is the VW Special Tool 3424 or similar hub spreading tool? where do you get these and how much?

Any advice on fitting this or problems would be much appreciated!

I got mine from a vw dealer. Think it was about £12.

As a tip I'd say buy some new top mounts and have the new setup built up before you start to save time on the day.

Also one side you have to use spring compressors to remove the strut/spring from the hub.
