LCR brembos on a fabia vrs possible?

Featured Replies

Hi all, Im new to the forum but have read alot from it previously.... great work!

I know about the OEM brake upgrades available e.g 312mm using carriers and calipers from a TT etc.

But what about the Brembos, will they fit or is there alot more involved?

Hope someone can shed some light for me..

Many thanks in advance!

yip they fit, brembo gt kit, same as the LCR set up

Nah, they don't fit. :D

These are actual LCR brakes, but as above, the same part as the GT upgrade kit.

You'll definitely need 17" wheels though, the biggest ones that fit 'standard' are 312mm ones IIRC

I've been at school all day.

I know the discs won't fit... but is there a bolt-on application for the MkII Octavia vRS using these calipers?

Why would you need them on a MKII? The brakes are just fine?????

Not if you want to stop quickly they're not! Once you've had good brakes it's hard to go back to standard ones.

I have never felt the brakes on my car to be lacking, and yes, I do drive fast :)

4 pot brakes are awesome. not sure if any of the top end new Audi TTs come with brembos?

Clearly your requirements do not match mine

Sorry, in the wrong forum, thought I was In the Octy II :o

And yes, the Fabia brakes are crap as standard, but you just need to be

aware of the limitations :)

I do have an Octavia II, but two laps of Castle Combe and the standard brakes would be giving up. I have 4 pot Hi-Spec calipers on my S2 and 347mm Brembo discs... they are unbelievably good.

Looks like you have just cost me a night out :(

Mate, a night out for me will be more than a few beers, I can assure you :)

However, If you make it to the Malthouse on Thursday, you can have as much as

you can drink :)

I will probably be nursing a baby by then but if I'm not I'll try to pop up in the S2 for a brake demonstration :D:thumbup:

thanks for your response guys!

I Have 17" rims on at the mo.

What exactly do I need other than the Calipers, Discs and pads?

What is the GT upgrade kit?

Thanks!

Calipers, carriers, discs, pads and brake lines.

The GT kit from Brembo is all of the above.

And don't assume just because you have 17" wheels they will fit, it depends on the spoke design and offset of the wheel if it will clear the huge offset of the caliper.

Thanks for your help, What kind of price are these going for?

My rims are from the golf GTI, maybe I will put my wheel on my mates LCR to see if they fit!

For the price they cost would you guys recommend upgrading to them or going for something else.???

Im running 340WHP so need stopping power!

You're running that power without a brake upgrade?!

Fair point the Brembo's don't fit under a fair few 17" wheels - forgot about that :o
