You're running that power without a brake upgrade?!

erm yeh:eek: not good i know!

Only had it running a couple of months and i have gone thru new ebc green stuff pads, also running drilled and grooved discs.

Thats why im so confused what brakes to go for... just seen the brembo gt kit - nearly £1000...

Surely there are better brakes for that kind of money?

I might be shot down for saying this but I think the Brembo "Junior" GT kit is entry-level. The other GT kits are more expensive and probably better, it appears they have 2 piece rotors for a start.

Have you looked into the ECS kits, using Porsche calipers? That's where I'd go with that kind of power.

EBC green stuff are erm, not great to say the least.

If you want a quick cheap fix that will do you until you can make your mind up try fitting either EBC Redstuff ceramic, EBC Yellow Stuff or Ferodo DS2500.

Won't solve all the problems, but will mean your pads don't catch fire/disappear on you.

Fair point the Brembo's don't fit under a fair few 17" wheels - forgot about that :o

As I have found, 15mm hubcentric spacers allow most 17" wheels that would usually foul the caliper, to clear with ease.

DS2500s over YellowStuff all day long. Had both, on the same car/brake setup, and the DS2500s eat them for breakfast.

Thanks guys!

As a cheap fix I ordered the yellow stuff pads until I decide what to go for, defo am not putting 18's on!

Only two things that put me off the ds2500 was that I read they are not road legal (why??), and the price difference.

I can get yellow stuff for £65 and ds2500 for £115, and I am literally looking to change the brake setup in the next couple of months the latest.

I am thinking about porsche brakes, I know there are caliper brackets available for the 312mm setups but guessing not the vrs hubs?

Any quick fix i.e use 312mm carriers and then get the porsche brackets?

I know alot about electrics and engines but never learnt much about brakes

I read up on the standard thing with DS2500s when I bought mine. Basically to get the ECE 90 mark they have to perform to within 10% or something higher or lower to the defined guidelines - DS2500s are more than 10% better and therefore they don't get the approval!

That's what I read anyway.. and after having them over YellowStuff (which were "shhhhh********ttttt" rubbish when cold) I can definitely say that they're a lot better. And when they're warm they're phenomenally good.
