An entrance of air from aircon

Featured Replies

Hi guys

An entrance of air from aircon into my Octavia (TDI 2.0 2008) continuous in spite of that the air conditioner is extinguished, how can i fix it?

thx for your advice\help

Not sure what you mean but air will continue to enter the car with the Aircon turned off, this is normal.

The only way to stop external air coming into the car is to press the Air Recycle button which will stop all external air entering the car, however if left on for any length of time yuo risk the car misting up.

yes

This may be all too obvious, but ....

When the aircon is off the air ingress is controlled by the blower. Have you zeroed the blower speed (central turn button)?

In my Elegance I can set the air to recycle when the aircon is turned off - the light comes on when the button is pressed and you can hear the flaps moving.

When you hit the air recirc button the air conditioning (ECON OFF) comes on by defualt, press the ECON button again to turn the A/C off. This is obviously to prevent the car misting up.

To the OP:

I presume you are describing the continuation of airflow when the climate control is physically turned off. This is due to the ram air effect when driving along. Air will be forced in through the air intake even with the fan off. Close the face vents to minimalise this problem.

Humans need air to breathe, hence the air coming in to the car.
