High Revving Fabia - help

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'm very pleased with my newish (57 reg) petrol 1.4 16v Fabia 3, but - hot or cold - the engine revs very high. It's possible to turn into my street, take the foot off the clutch and roll 200 yards to my house without using the accelerator. Is this right?!

The garage said it might be the air conditioning demanding high revs, but the effect is the same when the aircon is switched off too.

It's "idling" at 800 rpm, which a friend says is right, but what about being able to travel with my foot off the accelerator?

Any guidance much appreciated...

Welcome. Please search or post here.

When it does it put your foot under the throttle pedal and pull it up and see if it stops. My dads VRs did it but only every so often. Had the throttle pedal replaced under warranty. Dealers had a couple of cars with the same fault.

welcome along, sorry to hear you have problems

Thank you. I'll give it a go!

Hiya.

I won't do a full expn here, but this sounds pretty normal for a modern car to me.

No-one's asked the question yet! ;)
