Air Vents in the new fabia 2

Featured Replies

Is there any way to close all the air vents in the new fabia.

It's pretty obvious in the climatic air condition operating control that you had to have either the dashboard vents, wind shield vent or under the dashbord vents opened......

but is there any way to close all

Turning the left hand climatronic knob to the left will turn the system off. The only vents you can close manually are the dashboard vents.

There should be a control on that allows the air flow to be changed to 0

It's a rubberised wheel

you mean make it on the dashboard vents position then close all dashboard vents manually??

Sorry, I'm not quite sure what you are asking.

You can't physically close the windscreen or foot level vents, you can only close the dashboard vents, via the rubber wheel. If you have climatronic, turning the left hand knob to the left turns the system off.

Why would you want to close all the vents? Surely if you don't want air being blown at you, you turn the fan off. If you closed all of the vents, there would be nowhere for the air to go. If you want to prevent smoke etc from the outside environment entering the cabin, then put the system into recirculate mode until you pass through the smoke, then put it back to 'auto'.

Not having a throughflow of air in the cabin will quickly lead to a deterioration in the cabin air quality and is not recommended.

Thanks for response,

I know that I had to refresh cabin air frequently.

But I asked that question because I feel a slightly air breath on my hand (over the gearshift lever) while closing all the vents!!!!!!!!!

I thought that something still open but turned out not.

I still don't know from where that air comes from????

I would guess that if the fan is off, outside air will still make it through the system and out of the vents. I know on cars that I've had without an electronic climate control, you would still get some air entering the cabin with the fan switched off (which would then vary with speed - i.e. how fast you go relates to how fast the air enters the cabin).

Also wouldn't surprise me if the vents don't completely close, as a safety point so that you don't fill the cabin with carbon dioxide?
