My 3 month old vrs estate requires a new gearbox after only 4500miles. Took the car into the supplying dealer several weeks ago complaing of jerky gearchanges and problems of being in the wrong gear, they agreed their was a problem and the car was booked in to investige.They were told by skoda technical to check/change oil and filter,(not renewed) they had the car for a day and on collection i was told that an electronic part was required (costing £1100 if you had to pay for it) and the car was booked in again once they had the part. Took car in this monday for 2-3 days. Was contacted wednesday afternoon and told new box required,but this has to come from germany,may have to be manufactured and it could be 10-12 days before it gets to the dealer, who does not fill me with confidance as they seem to know little of the dsg box and have never changed one before.

Apparently the front of the has to be removed and they are unsure of how long it will take. Not what you expect of a new car. After 1 week of ownership the rear wiper packed up and had to have a new one. I have started the procedure of rejecting the car but so far no contact from the dealer.Will keep you posted of developments

sounds like they've replaced the mechatronics which seems to be becoming quite common. If they can sort the gear box out i doubt you'll be able to reject the car
